Waiting Children
New Beginnings’ Waiting Child Program connects children who need immediate, permanent families with parents who are prepared, flexible, and ready to offer stability. These children may be older, part of a sibling group, or have medical, developmental, or emotional needs—and they are waiting for the chance to belong.

What is the Waiting Child Program?
A waiting child is legally free for adoption but does not yet have a permanency plan. Children may be waiting due to age, sibling status, or specific medical or emotional needs. New Beginnings is committed to finding families who can meet these needs, and in many cases, the adoption process can be expedited. Financial assistance and additional preparation and support are often available.
Who can inquire about a waiting child?
This program is a good fit for families who are open, resilient, and willing to complete additional training tailored to a child’s needs. Prospective parents should:
- Have a current home study or one completed within the last three years (families in process may be considered).
- Meet the program requirements of the child’s country of origin.
How do I learn more about current waiting children?
New Beginnings is committed to protecting all waiting children’s personal information and birth stories, so minimal information is shared initially. To begin, fill out our pre-application form.
