New Beginnings Support

Post-Adoption Services

As adoptees grow into adulthood, many begin to seek a deeper understanding of their personal story. This may include learning more about their birth family, uncovering cultural or ethnic heritage, or gathering details about the circumstances of their adoption. Each journey is unique—and New Beginnings is here to offer guidance, support, and accurate information every step of the way.

Our Post-Adoption Services are designed to help adult adoptees navigate this exploration with clarity and compassion.

What We Provide

Heritage & Cultural Exploration

We help adoptees explore and understand their country of birth, cultural traditions, and ethnic background. For many, learning this information offers a meaningful connection to identity and personal history. Our staff can assist with:

  • Connecting adoptees with cultural resources, activities, or travel guidance
  • Understanding cultural heritage and background information
  • Reviewing historical context or social conditions at the time of adoption

Support for Contact or Reunion

If contact or reunion becomes possible, we offer support to help adoptees navigate the process with care and stability. This may include:

  • Coaching on communication and setting expectations
  • Assistance with writing letters or handling initial outreach
  • Emotional support before, during, or after contact
  • Guidance on maintaining healthy boundaries

Travel & In-Country Assistance

For adoptees who wish to visit their country of birth or meet with officials abroad, our team can provide travel guidance and coordinate with our overseas partners when applicable.

Guided Birthland Trips

For adoptees and families seeking a deeper connection to their country of origin, New Beginnings offers guided birthland trips at select times throughout the year. These trips are carefully planned and led by experienced adoption professionals and trusted in-country guides.

At this time, birthland trips are offered exclusively to Morocco and may include:

  • Guided cultural and heritage experiences in meaningful locations
  • Education on Moroccan history, traditions, and social context
  • Opportunities for reflection and identity-building
  • Shared experiences with other adoptive families
  • Visits to orphanages or institutions connected to adoptees’ early stories, when appropriate
  • On-the-ground support from experienced guides and adoption professionals

Each journey is designed to be supportive, intentional, and respectful—honoring personal history while strengthening connection to culture and identity.
